LEGO competition at Alza
Last year, Alza ran a competition to win a LEGO set, creating plenty of excitement for participants. The main attraction was a collection of 3D models that we created and delivered. Each model contained a winning code that participants could discover by viewing the 3D model in augmented reality.
Optimising 3D models for the competition
Optimising these 3D models was a demanding process that required considerable time and effort. Some of the source models contained 30 million polygons. We had to preserve their detail and accuracy while making them suitable for viewing in augmented reality. Our goal was for every model to stand out through its quality and precision, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the virtual LEGO experience.
Competition results
The results were extremely positive and exceeded expectations. Participants were excited not only about the opportunity to win a LEGO set, but also about exploring the 3D models in augmented reality. This innovative technology added a new dimension to the competition and made it even more engaging.
Despite the demanding optimisation process, the result was well worth the effort. Alza’s LEGO competition was a successful campaign that delivered an engaging experience for everyone involved.
