Android devices are currently experiencing problems launching augmented reality through Google Scene Viewer. This also affects our 3D & AR Viewer and Interactive Product applications when attempting to view a product in a real-world space.
Our 3D Configurator is unaffected by this outage and remains available to use.
When AR is launched, the viewer may open briefly and then return the user to the original page. Other developers have reported the same behaviour, including with examples on modelviewer.dev.
According to a statement in the model-viewer project, recent changes to the Google app caused the problem. The development team is working on a fix intended for the next Google app update. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
